Our founder/president, Scott Matheny, currently serves as a Legislative Lead within the Transitioning Federal Small Business Coalition for the Success Act. This coalition is made up of a group of leaders in the A/E/C industry who have come together with a common goal to positively impact the lifecycle of federal contracting businesses across the country and address the shrinking industrial base in the federal market. With a nearly 40% decline in the federal industrial base over the last 10 years, this issue has become a matter of significant concern to our national defense as recently documented by the Department of Defense.
The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) recently published an article titled Reversing the Shrinking Industrial Base that outlines the challenges small businesses are facing in the federal marketplace and the efforts by the SUCCESS Coalition, along with SAME’s IGE, to make a tangible change in Congress that will help advanced small businesses growth in the federal market. “Progress made to date was readily evident by a hearing of the House Small Business Committee held on Feb. 6, 2024.” said Michael Ramos, M. SAME, SUCCESS Act Coalition Support, and Executive Vice President, Raymond Engineering-Georgia Inc., “Many of the comments were directly in line with coalition’s strategy points.”
