Just in time for Veterans Day, the ribbon was cut on the Fort Knox Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The clinic has already begun seeing patients and is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies to be able to serve area veterans with the latest in medical innovative care.
Mr. Stephen Black, Robley Rex VA Medical Center Director, remarked that “this CBOC is the nicest facility of its type that he has ever seen.” The VA began seeing patients in the facility in mid-October and they have received extremely positive comments about the facility since opening.
Semper Tek is proud to have served as the General Contractor for this Design-Build project contracted through the Louisville US Army Corps of Engineers for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Jason Brinkmoeller, Sr. Vice President of Semper Tek, participated in the ribbon cutting event and remarked, “This project was particularly special to our firm since myself and our Founder and President, Mr. Scott Matheny, are both disabled veterans.” Our firm’s employees are proud to be able to create places that serve our nation’s veterans and provide them with the care they deserve. We are confident that this building will serve our Kentucky veterans well for many years to come.
There were many people who helped the DVA CBOC come to fruition. We would like to thank Col. Gant for her leadership during much of this project, and Col. Crispino in the end. We appreciate the support and partnership of Mr. Matt Lowe and his team, as well as Mr. Nick Biebelhauser, Resident Engineer, and his team. Thank you also to the Department of Veterans Affairs staff, in particular Mr. Jodi Babb, Mr. Jeremy Bradshaw, and Mr. Stephen Black, the Robley Rex Medical Center Director.
We are very proud of our team at Semper Tek and our subcontracting partners who have created this beautiful building. Our on-site team worked tirelessly, often nights and weekends, even holidays, to ensure that we continued to progress on this project so that we could begin to serve veteran patients as soon as possible. I would like to particularly recognize Mrs. Wanda Ortiz, our Project Manager, Mr. Eric Boursaw, our General Superintendent, Mr. Shawn James, our QC Manager, Mr. Will Murray, Mechanical QC Manager, Mr. Tony Anderson and Mr. James Ruley, Superintendents, and Mr. Butch Merritt, Site Safety and Health Officer, for your outstanding work on-site each day.
